What MilitaryDex is

MilitaryDex is a public data reference for exploring and comparing national armed-force inventories. The 2026 edition covers 145 country profiles with personnel, defense spending and major air, naval and land-system counts in a consistent interface.

The site also maintains small curated collections of notable equipment and military installations. Those collections are illustrative references, not complete inventories.

Independence and limits

MilitaryDex is not affiliated with a government, military organization or defense contractor. Its Military Strength Score is an editorial calculation based on selected quantitative inputs; it is not an official rating and cannot predict military outcomes.

Sources and transparency

Country inventory fields use the Global Firepower 2026 edition; nuclear estimates reference the Federation of American Scientists. MilitaryDex documents the exact category weights, missing-value handling and major limitations instead of presenting the score as objective fact.
